ITS VALENTINE'S DAY :D

                           File:Antique Valentine 1909 01.jpg
Saint Vas Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine,[1] is observed on February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it is not a holiday in most of them.
St. Valentine's Day began as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. Several martyrdom stories were invented for the various Valentines that belonged to February 14, and added to later martyrologies.[2] A popular hagiographical account of Saint Valentine of Rome states that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire. According to legend, during his imprisonment, he healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. An embellishment to this story states that before his execution he wrote her a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell.[3] Today, Saint Valentine's Day is an official feast day in the Anglican Communion,[4] as well as in the Lutheran Church.[5] The Eastern Orthodox Church also celebrates Saint Valentine's Day, albeit on July 6 and July 30, the former date in honor of the Roman presbyter Saint Valentine, and the latter date in honor of Hieromartyr Valentine, the Bishop of Interamna (modern Terni). In Brazil, the Dia de São Valentim is recognized on June 12.
The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in theHigh Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. In 18th-century England, it evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.[6]

HISTORY? DONE HAHAHAHA. But i have another version from a book.

Our classes finishes at 5, we can't even celebrate Valentines with our buddies *sobs* HAHAHAHA

So, basically, my Valentines Day = Uni D:

NOW AND THEN

GUESS WHO?

Its a mini SOOK YEE :D I know IDK what kind of facial expression was that.

I was only 3 year old when I started babbling nursery rhymes. At 6, my mom had this radio set where we can record ourselves singing or speaking into a cassette.

It was pretty cool back then. My sister and I would record ourselves and play it back and laughed at ourselves cause we sounded really funny HAHAHAHA.

We had a box of cassettes of our own. AND its all our kiddy voices. I think my mom threw it away already. But I think she still has the old radio set in the storeroom. My childhood memories.

ALSO, I loved dancing and singing. ONE WORD, performing.
Sounds unbelievable?

OBVIOUSLY. IT WAS WHEN I WAS STANDARD 1.
I still remembered performing a dance with this song called Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot  Bikini by Brian Hyland.

ITS SUCH AN OLD SONG YOU KNOW and a funny one. I have no idea why teacher picked this song.

This is a picture of my first friend, Hardeep and I :D Right after performance :)
It was sunny okay, that's why I was looking at the camera like that.

After that, I don't really remember but I remember singing patriotic songs on stage with a bunch of friends X'D Then, I started story-telling. I recalled shaking on stage while telling the whole story.

After entering highschool, I didn't do much performance or anything. I was a prefect since form 1 and was always busy with seniors that likes to torture us with heaps of work. And last year, my friends and I decided we should performance at least once before leaving highschool together and then we convinced and dragged the whole class to join us XD

My fellow 5S1s :D You had no idea what it feels like what the whole hall kept quiet cause a group of so called bookworms performing. We did it anyway for the sake of our beloved teachers. Someone sabotaged us and stole our WE LOVE YOU TEACHERS banner. I will never forget that. Made us run the whole school.

Now, do you wonder why we were all in our sports attire? Cause the teachers were not satisfied about our dresscodes, which is tshirt and jeans. DAMN. We respected them okay and agreed quietly. So, we wore our respective sport houses shirt.

CAN YOU SPOT ME ? :)

I hope in future, I can have the time to learn a type of instrument, preferably a guitar cause I can just strum and sing :3 Wouldn't that be nice?

Whoever who wants to hit the karaoke can or just AJAK me, okay? I WILL SURE JOIN :P

GOOGLE smart contact lens

As I was browsing through for more information, I came across this article. Pretty cool thing :D

Google Smart Contact Lens Lets Diabetes Patients Monitor Their Glucose Levels By The Second

A smart contact lens does seem like the logical evolution of eye-mounted wearable gadgets -- why look like a weirdo with Google Glass on your face when you can do everything on the sly? And while Google's new Smart Contact Lens doesn't exactly come with Glass' functionality (cramming that much hardware into a piece of plastic that fits over your cornea probably isn't feasible at this point in time), it does provide a glimpse into smart eyewear's potential future.
Aimed at diabetics, the contact lens allows wearers to constantly monitor their glucose levels. It can take as frequent as one reading per second, ensuring users get up-to-date information that can prove crucial to their well-being.
The Google Smart Contact Lens performs its feat using a wireless chip and a miniature glucose sensor that takes it measurements from your tears, with the electronics sandwiched between two soft layers of lens material. They're also looking to add equally tiny LEDs down the line, which will alert users when their glucose levels reach specific thresholds. The electronics used in the lenses are so small, they look like tiny specks of glitter, so they're not that intimidating to put on either.
Made by Google's experimental Google X labs, the Smart Contact Lens is currently in the prototype stage. They are, however, progressing quite well, having conducted multiple clinical experiments, along with having ongoing discussions with the FDA about the potential of bringing it to market.  Yeah, it's going to be a brave new world soon.

SOONNNNNNNNNNNN

IT MUST BE DONE *evil smirk*

THE MAJESTIC CONTACT LENS

My blog title, SPACE OUT. Does not simply mean its outer space.

Do you ever, just even once wonder about how the things you use everyday were made? I just did, this morning when I spoilt my contact lenses by creasing it. So, I researched on how contact lenses were made. Please keep in mind that I got this from wikipedia and there's a function to allow public to modify the history.

CONTACT LENS

A brief history about contact lens :)

1508   Leonardo da Vinci illustrates the concept of contact lenses
1823   British astronomer Sir John Herschel conceptualizes practical lens design
1887   First contact lens manufactured from glass, and fitted to cover the entire eye
1939   Contact lenses first made from plastic
1948   Plastic contact lenses designed to cover only the eye's cornea
1971   Introduction of soft contact lenses
1978   Introduction of GP contact lenses
1981   FDA approval of new soft contact lenses for extended (overnight) wear
1986   Overnight wear of GP contact lenses becomes available
1987   Introduction of disposable soft contact lenses
1987   GP contacts available in next-generation fluorosilicone acrylate materials
1996   Introduction of one-day disposable soft lenses
2002   Silicone-hydrogel contact lenses first marketed
2002   Overnight orthokeratology approved by FDA
2010   Custom-manufactured silicone-hydrogel lenses become available

By any chance, do you know what you're wearing? Whether its a soft lens or GP lens?
Basically, More than 37 million Americans wear contact lenses, yet many people are unfamiliar with GP contact lenses.
In 2012, GP contact lenses accounted for about 9% of all new contact lens fits and refits in the United States.* GPs are a high-tech, growing alternative to soft contact lenses.
There are three types of contact lens materials:
  • Hard (PMMA) lenses, the original type of contact lens, now virtually obsolete
  • GP contact lenses (primarily made from fluorosilicone acrylate, introduced in 1987)
  • Soft lenses, made from gel-like plastic, first marketed in 1971
GP contact lenses are also known as rigid gas permeables, or RGPs. Your eye doctor may call them GPs or RGPs.
GP contacts are made of a firm, durable plastic that transmits oxygen. They offer excellent eye health: because they don't contain water like soft lenses do, they resist deposits and are less likely than soft contacts to harbor bacteria.
GP contact lenses clean and disinfect easily, don't dehydrate, are easier to handle, and last longer than soft lenses.
And since GP contacts retain their shape better, they provide crisper vision than soft contact lenses.

Why Are GP Lenses So Comfortable?

GP lenses are not the same as the old hard lenses. For one thing, GP lens materials allow oxygen to pass through the lens and reach your cornea. Hard lenses are not oxygen permeable.
ALSO, known as breathable lenses :) These days, people preferred using hydrogel contact lenses which are much more comfortable :D

Secondly, GP contact lenses are custom made for each individual. Your eye care practitioner will measure the exact shape of your cornea and prescribe lenses with the curvature, size, and corrective power that suit your particular eyes.
With advances in manufacturing, GP lenses are made in thinner designs, larger diameters, and with more consistently smooth edges than ever before. As well, more eye care practitioners are using sophisticated techniques to map eye topography, enabling the back surface of the lens to better align with the cornea.
All these changes result in lenses that center well on the eye, providing good comfort and crisp vision.

The Truth About Contact Lens Comfort

People sometimes mistakenly infer that a "soft" lens will be comfortable, but a "rigid" lens will not. In fact, both soft and GP lenses can provide long-term comfort.
However, soft lenses do provide better initial comfort, while GP lenses require a brief adaptation period. But this is due to the size of the lens — not the lens material.

Soft lenses are larger in diameter than GP lenses and "tuck under" the eyelids. As a result, you don't feel the lens edges when you blink. But since GP lenses are smaller, during blinking your eyelids will experience initial "lens awareness."
Your lids gradually adapt so that you don't feel the lens with each blink. Once over that small hurdle, the comfort of soft and GP contacts can be comparable.
Think of it like getting a new pair of shoes. You may "feel" the shoes while you break them in, but if they're the proper fit, that feeling disappears. Shoes don't have to be made of gel to be comfortable, and neither do contact lenses.
THEN, the contact lenses were upgraded and now there's coloured contact lenses. HAHAHA.

Layers in contact lens :D

Here's a video of how contact lenses were made :) Enjoy :D
Those who wear contact lens. Now you know what you're wearing :)

Eyes wide open cause I'm spacing out

Oh, no. Brain cells not working.

Do you know that I proceeded to the second line after 10 minutes?  This is simply because one does not simply blog when they have nothing to say or no mood to blog. Unless, of course if you're in a bad mood, you'll start cursing on your post about someone you despise. Am I right ? If JunYan reads this. He's going to say "You're left".

Before I start with any topics in the next few posts. I'm going to just tell you the reason why I'm doing this when I have a private blog. HAHAHAHA. Its an assignment *sobs* I could have used my rojakdaily blog but obviously I had forgotten the username and password. My whole group forgot cause it was 1 year ago.

I have not come up with a topic yet. GAHHHHH. Feeling so frustrated.

Andddddddd my question has been answered. I don't really need a topic says Dr. Yam.

YAYYYYYY! I'm happpyyyyy :))))) FYI, I always use gif on my blog cause some really describes how I feel. First post, I'll just say anything I want. HAHAHAHA. I'll seriously think of a topic later for next posts.
OKAY ? *winks*
